Steve and Bobbie Clark

Steve and Bobbie Clark have been ministering in Central and South America for over 30 years. Steve was saved at age 18 in Southern California and then went into a Missionary Training Program. As a single missionary, Steve served in Guatemala and Ecuador for 4 years evangelizing and involved in Church planting. Meanwhile, Bobbie was born and raised on the Island of Okinawa, where her parents were with the Civil Service since 1949. She received the Lord at age 16 and after High School, went to California and attended the same Missionary Training Program that Steve did. Four years later, in 1980 when Steve returned to the United States on furlough, they met and married.
Their first assignment was to Guatemala, for 8 months and then on to San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Steve and Tom Shaw founded Tree of Life Ministries and worked with already existing churches, helping them with evangelism, ministering the Holy Spirit and teaching in the Bible School and Pastoral seminars. Three children were home birthed there. Bobbie kept the home fires burning and Steve ministered throughout the North coast and saw an awesome move of God. After 5 years, Steve and Bobbie moved to the capital, Tegucigalpa where they were involved in church planting, leadership training, retreats, book ministry, women’s ministry and assisting other existing churches.
In 2000, after 20 years in Honduras, Steve and Bobbie felt a called to go back to Cuenca, Ecuador and finish the work Steve started years earlier. They have been there now for 7 years. Their children were home schooled and are now in Dallas, TX serving in a local church. The Clarks are raising up a local church, including leadership training, retreats, deliverance encounters, marriage seminars, personal counseling, praying for the sick. They also have outreaches to the jungle as well as a orphanage outreach in Guayaquil. Steve is building a Bearhawk airplane (4 seats, experimental) to use for the jungle outreach.
Future goals are:
- To raise funds for a tent for meetings
- Expand the cell groups
- Leadership training
- Deliverance encounters
- Finish building the plane
- Book ministry
Prayer insights:
Cuenca a strong Catholic city of 400,000 people. The people are a mix of Spanish and Indian blood, a closed society with many prejudices. It is built on centuries of paganism and witchcraft from the Indian cultures and the Spanish conquest.
