The New VWMTC Curriculum Model Beginning the 2007-2008 school year, VWMTC is no longer a two year program track of Victory Bible Institute as in the past. It is now a standalone 2nd year program consisting of exclusively missions or missions related topics with the main enrollment prerequisite being completion of one year of Bible foundations courses, such as VBI's Practical Ministry I program or equivalent from a recognized Bible school.

Thus, enrolling students are already academically and spiritually mature. They enter a new school year together as a learning cohort, undergo truly transformative experiences while seeking God, and clarifying personal callings. They receive leading edge training from seasoned missionaries who are also expert, anointed instructors in their areas of expertise.

The VWMTC school year is divided into four academic quarters plus a summertime international internship. Each quarter has six or seven weeks of regular classroom instruction similar to the eight weeks quarters of the past. The school day starts at 8 AM with 20 minutes of praise and worship, Monday through Friday, and continues until 12:50 PM. Each course totals about 16 total hours.

Classes offered are a combination of practically oriented "how to do" classes, character development, and a few academic Missiology-type classes. Also offered are several courses in multi-media technology, how to raise funds and build a support team, and Spanish conversation. The students are required to enroll in Spanish to further ensure the success of the two scheduled short-term mission trips to Latin American countries. However, incoming students who demonstrate fluency in Spanish will be allowed to enroll in Independent projects as an alternative, to learn another language or pursue a topic or develop a skill specific to the individual calling, subject to VWMTC staff approval.

Other features of the new VWMTC curriculum include:

  • Two short-term mission trips to Latin American countries, plus weekend retreats at Camp Victory scheduled around the regular classroom sessions.
  • Small group leadership training as applied to organizing and conducting local community outreaches, such as to nursing homes, prisons, apartment complexes, etc.
  • Modular course weeks (one or two per academic quarter) to allow visiting expert missionaries to impart their expertise in a particular area within a short time.
  • A summer time international internship in a Majority World setting. This is a a springboard to the first real assignment after finishing the VWMTC program.
  • Opportunities for personal ministry within the many specialized ministries throughout Victory Christian Center.
VWMTC offers outstanding placement services to the program finisher. It is committed to assisting students find their right place for their initial assignment on the mission field. This can take several forms:
